Affirmations have the power to bring your opportunities into your life.

Afirmations work even if you don’t believe in them. Your voice, your thoughts are waves. Science can measure them, we see waves when we record our voice or music. The waves you create with your thoughts and words interact and impact all the other waves in your universe.

Chant, mantra and prayer are intentional and so are affirmations. So even if you aren’t convinced, are skeptical or think it’s a bunch of woo, just try affirmations. The idea or concept of sending intentional vibrations out to the universe is not a new idea. Even before structured language there was percussion, foot stomp dancing, banging a bone on a rock or making ancient instruments that shake, rattle or pluck.

No one else needs to know. Do them in your car, or before you nap, on on your lunch break. How affirmations work for me is by presenting opportunities that I then must choose how I will respond or decide. That’s been my experience.

Afirmations work even if you don’t believe in them. That was my experience. I was admiring the sporty convertable of a business acqaintance when she said, “Why don’t you get one?” My reaction was shock that I could ever afford a car like that! Then she asked if she could share an affirmation with me. She said I didn’t have to believe in it, I just had to say it.

The affirmation is “I choose prosperity”. She said it was very important that I say “choose” and not “want” or any other word. It had to be “choose.”

I think affirmations work by attracting opportunities that we then exercise our free will to act upon, or not.

That was three decades ago but I can tell you that I believe. I do have prosperity in my life and I attribute most of it to making good decisions and planning and taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

Ok, here is one seemingly coincidental example.

I had given my book “Be here now” to one of my sons. I thought he could really use some hope and inspiration. A couple of years later I began to really miss that book and I was tossing around the idea of buying another copy. But I didn’t. I just kept thinking about it, and maybe I was procrastinating or maybe I was weighing whether to bring another book into my place which at the time was a very petite studio condo.

I was walking in the neighborhood around that time and came upon a small “free box” of goodies and yes, a copy of “Be here now” was in the free box.

I won’t go into details but I am comfortable saying that while I am not “wealthy” by millionaire standards, I do have housing security and most modern kitchen appliances. I worked for these things but the opportunities to work for them, to invest, etc., presented themselves at times I actively was thinking about them.
